I have a bouldering comp. this saturday and i do well in them but i get really nervous before them, like the day of. Any tips to calm down? Thx! :)

Answer by KurtThe biggest thing is a pair of shoes. You will quickly get frustrated when trying to climb in street shoes. If you plan on climbing anything that requires a rope, you'll need a harness and a belay device with a carabiner. Chalk and a chalk bag might be something else you'd want to get if you find you're really enjoying yourself.

Heading there next July and want a multi pitch route.

Answer by the yes manthere are some(lots) in the south platte areas to the east of the ark drainage and tons down in the black canyon of the gunnison. though not multi pitch if you haven't been to penetente canyon south of salida(near del norte) it is very cool, really nice rock there and some cool routes. near colorado

Do the rock climbing instructors start you off really slowly and teach you the basics then work up from there.
How long will it take an average person to learn how to climb a Mountain?
If you take lessons in a group, may the instructors take you on an excursion Mountain climbing for a final thing?

Answer by CAs for the best brand, most brands of rope out there are pretty good. The characteristics of the rope such as waterproof coatings, fall ratings, and amount of stretch are more important than the brand. I tend to like Maxim and Petzl ropes.
What rope and especially what length rope you get really depends on what you plan on doing with the rope and where you plan on
